Here is a fun Christmas ornament that is easy to make and fun for all ages. To get started, you will need to collect several small plastic lids. Pringle lids and lids from small tubs of butter both work well. Let your child go through magazines or your old Christmas cards to find pictures that they like. Carefully trace the lid around the picture and cut it out. Glue the picture on the inside of the lid and punch a hole for a string. You can also have your child draw or color a picture for a personalized ornament for grandparents, or add glitter, beads or sequins.
During the holiday season you will be able find all flavors and colors of candy canes. Pick up a pack of your favorite flavor and make these cute ornaments that you can hang on the tree or give to classmates or friends.
For each candy cane reindeer, you will need one regular sized candy cane, two small wiggly eyes, one small red pom pom (for the nose), a brown pipe cleaner, and ribbon. Try to use glue dots or a low melt glue gun to attach the eyes to the curved side of the candy cane. Add the nose. Bend the pipe cleaner to resemble reindeer antlers. Add a ribbon around the top and you have a candy cane reindeer.

For each tree topper, you will need one empty toilet paper tube, a thin piece of cardboard cut into the shape of a star, foil or gold wrapping paper, sequins and glue.
Start by covering the cardboard star with the foil or wrapping paper. Wrap it around the back and glue in place. Next let your child decorate the star with sequins and glitter. When it is dry, attach it to the empty toilet paper tube. Place it on the top of your tree for a unique and handmade tree topper.

Take the top off of the glass ball and have your child fill the ball up with sequins, paper or even artificial flower petals. Let your child use his or her imagination to make a unique creation. Carefully replace the top of the ball.
