Why not make Father's Day a special day with a gift you made yourself. These easy kids crafts are so much fun you will want to make some for grandpa too!
Father’s Day FunFather’s Day is a great way for kids to spend special time with dad. So dads set aside some time just for you kids. Moms you can help to by having some fun activities on hand for both the kids and dad. Just Like DadHave younger boys that want to do whatever daddy does, including shaving? Try this fun activity Father’s Day morning. While dad is preparing to shave give each boy a balloon with a face drawn on(with the string taped to the counter) and a popsicle stick. Let dad help them put shaving cream on the balloons. Let the boys “shave” their balloons while dad shaves. If you are really into messes let the boys shave their own “whiskers” with the shaving cream and Popsicle stick. Don’t forget to take pictures! Soap on a RopeStill a favorite guy gift – but this you make your self. You will need 3 white bars of Ivory soap (other kinds do not work as well) Cheese grater Twine (1/4 inch thick) Warm water Wax paper Cookie cutters, hollow ones (sports shapes are great) or you can just make a ball Disposable gloves What you do: Grate the soap bars into a large bowl. Add warm water slowly until mix is like a thick oatmeal. Mix well with your hands and set aside. Lay out wax paper, then cut twine long enough so it can hang in the shower. Pat soap mixture into a ball around twine. Make sure twine is in the center of the ball. Place ball and twine on wax paper until dry (about 24 hours). If using cookie cutters - Put soap mixture into basic cookie cutter . Pack tightly. Let dry for 72 hours or for three days. When the soap is dry, pop it out of the cookie cutter. Coupon BookMake a coupon book for dad. Put in things like – Good for one free hour of watching your favorite TV show, 1 free lawn mowing job, 1 hour of time with just you and me. Basket for DadGet a basket and fill it with some of dad’s favorite things. Maybe a new video with popcorn and a soda or you might put in a magazine he likes, new pens, handkerchiefs and even new socks. Make a ScrapbookPut together a scrapbook just for dad. Include photos of special times together. Have everyone in the family write something about each picture. Add drawings you have made or cards you have given dad over the years. This will be one gift dad will treasure forever. Make His Day SpecialNo matter what you decide to make or give dad simply spending time with him will make his day. So cook his favorite food, take time out to play a game or even just go for a walk. He will appreciate that you love him enough to hang out with him.
