Gather the family and make homemade edible Christmas ornaments. No matter your cooking experience, all of the edible tree decoration recipes are easy to prepare with even the youngest cooking enthusiast.
Snowman Gumdrops
- White Gumdrops

- Small candies (mini m&m's)
Assemble 3 white gumdrops on top of one another by adhering the gumdrops with royal icing. Once the body and head are assembled, decorate the snowman. Mini candies can be the eyes, while shoelace liquorice for a scarf, and Liquorice Allsorts for the top hat.
Insert a clean paperclip into the top hat of the snowman and attach string or ribbon to the clip. Let the snowman sit for 24 hours to ensure the royal icing has hardened. Once the snowman is complete, decorate the tree with edible treat.
Candy Glass
- Christmas cookie cutters
- Hard candies (lifesavers, jolly ranchers)
Wrap the cookie cutters with foil and spray liberally with non flavored cooking spray. Assemble them on a foil lined cookie sheet. Place hard candies inside the cookie cutters in a single layer. The candies can be one color or a mixture of color for the candy glass. Cook the candies in a preheated oven of 350 degrees for approximately 10 minutes. Candy glass is cooked once all the hard candy has melted.
Immediately after the candy glass is removed from the oven poke each candy glass with a skewer. Once the candy glass is cool, insert Christmas ribbon into the hole to hang the edible decoration.
Candy Wreath

Decide on a pattern for your candy wreath and assemble onto the string. Green, red, green, red, or 3 white, 1 red, 3 white, 1 red are just two pattern options. Tie a knot with the two ends of the string. Candy wreaths can be created in a variety of sizes.
Chocolate Chip Cookies Ornaments

Bake your favorite cookie recipe. Let sit to cool for a few minutes, once semi cool to the touch, poke a hole with a skewer in the cookie. Hole can be in the center of the cookie or near the top of the cookie. Once the cookie is cooled completely, thread ribbon into the hole to be used as the hanging hook.
Sugar Cookies
- Favorite sugar cookie recipe
- Cookie cutters
- Ribbon
Roll out your favorite sugar cookie recipe and cut out different designs with the cookie cutters. Sprinkle each cookie with colored sugar and bake according to the recipe directions. Let sit to cool for a few minutes, once semi cool to the touch, poke a hole with a skewer in the cookie. Hole can be in the center of the cookie or near the top of the cookie. Once the cookie is cooled completely, thread ribbon into the hole to be used as the hanging hook.
