Find out how to say "Father" in foreign languages, then make a picture frame, placemat, coffee mug, BBQ apron, or greeting card. Show Dad he's the greatest on the globe.

In any language, the word "Dad" translates into love. This Father's Day, show your love by creating an international gift for the best dad in the world--yours. Put foreign language words for "father" onto a picture frame, placemat, coffee mug, BBQ apron, or greeting card.

How to Say "Father" in Foreign Languages

Make a "World's Best Dad" Picture Frame

You will need a plain wood frame in the size of your choice, a photo of you and your dad, acrylic paints, paint pens or permanent markers, and clear or glitter sealant spray. First, paint the frame in a light background color. When the paint has dried, use the paint pens or markers to decorate with words. At the top of the frame, write "The World's Greatest Dad". Around the other three sides, use a variety of colors to write some of the different ways to say "Father" in other languages. When your project has dried, spray it with the sealant and insert your photo.

Serve Dad Breakfast on a Homemade Placemat

You will need a 12 x 18 inch piece of construction paper. At the top, write "The Best Dad in the World." Draw or glue a picture of a globe in the center of the placemat. Around the edges, write international words for "father." If you wish, draw flags from the various countries. Laminate your placemat and surprise your dad with a homemade breakfast. Consider including specialties from around the world: French croissants, Nutella, and Polish sausage.

Make an International Coffee Mug

Design a unique, custom coffee cup for Dad. Visit a web site such as Zazzle and have fun downloading graphics and photos for the "World's Best Dad". Add text including the foreign words for "father". When you serve your international breakfast, also include Dad's new mug, fresh-brewed coffee, and the morning paper.

Make a BBQ Apron and Grilling Gift Set

For the dad who loves to grill, make a "Greatest Dad in the World" fabric apron. Use fabric paints to decorate the apron with the international words for "Father". Present the apron to Dad as part of a gift basket with barbeque grilling tools and sauces.

Create a Multi-Lingual Father's Day Card

No matter what gift you give Dad, it is the heartfelt feelings you express in a homemade card that he'll remember the most. Take a 9 x 12 inch sheet of construction paper and fold it in half. On the outside cover, write your foreign "father" words around a globe. Inside, write a message to the "Best Dad in the World." Have fun with glitter, photos, stickers, stamps, and artwork. He'll love it.

Use this international Father's Day theme for any kind of gift or craft. In fact, at Zazzle you can also make mouse pads, stickers, tee-shirts, ties, and hats. Send Dad around the world this Father's Day.
