Brighten your spring with these four fun Easter-themed craft projects for young kids that don't cost a lot of money.

Mini Easter Baskets

These baskets are cute to give as presents to classmates, teachers or family members.

Materials

Directions

  1. Cut the top half of the milk carton off and discard.
  2. Place the bottom of the carton on the construction paper and trace around it. Cut out the shape and glue to the carton. Repeat the same procedure for all sides of the carton.
  3. Cut a strip of construction paper for the handle and glue the ends to the inside of the basket.
  4. Fill the basket with the plastic Easter grass then decorate it with the ribbon and stickers.
  5. Place jellybeans or other treats inside the basket for the finishing touch.

Bunny Pots

This spring craft looks like a bunny that is driving into the grass. Use the finished project to bring a whimsical touch to spring decorating.

Materials

Directions

  1. Fill the pots with the plastic Easter grass.
  2. Glue one half of the Styrofoam ball to the plastic grass. This becomes the rear of the bunny.
  3. Then glue the gray puffy ball onto the Styrofoam ball for the bunny’s tail.

Rabbit Ear Headbands

The simple craft is a great way to entertain the little ones while Easter dinner is being prepared.

Materials

Directions

  1. Bend the pipe cleaners in half and shape to form the outline of the bunny’s ear.
  2. Trace the ear shape on construction paper stopping two inches before the end of pipe cleaner.
  3. Cut out the ears and hot glue them to the pipe cleaners.
  4. When the glue has dried bend the ends of the pipe cleaner around the head bands to form the ears.
  5. Use the other color construction paper to cut out the center of the ears.
  6. Glue onto the main ears.
  7. Have the kids practice hopping like a bunny with their ears on and take a group photo of all the “bunnies” before dinner.

Jelly Bean Frames

These frames are a creative way to get rid of leftover Easter candy while displaying family memories.

Materials

Directions

  1. Use the glue to affix the candy around the edges of the frame.
  2. Place your favorite Easter snapshot in the frame and enjoy.
