Celebrating New Year's Eve is not just for adults! Kids want to share in the fun too. So why not throw a family friendly party this year. You can invite several other families with friends and have a wonderful time. Get together earlier in the day and spend time make party favors and decorations for the fun event. Here are some great ideas that will have your kids tooting their horns in celebration at midnight. Make Your Own Party HatsParty hats can be expensive to buy only to toss away after New Year's Eve, so why not make your own this year? Not only is it a great kid's craft, but it can be a fun activity for the New Year's party. Have a table set up with scissors, glue, card stock in different colors, markers, glitter, feathers and any thing else you think of. You can provide precut headbands that the kids can decorate however they like. Each one will be totally different and the kids will have a blast. Make Your Own Party FavorsMake miniature cones from shiny craft paper and decorate with ribbons and glitter to resemble tiny party hats. Write the guests, names on the hats and use them as place holders at the table. Let the kids decorate paper bags to fill as goodie bags to take home. Decorate the Party TableYou can curl ribbon designed to wrap on packages by running it quickly along the edge of a pair of scissors. (ADULTS ONLY). After an adult curls the ribbon, cut it into smaller pieces and scatter the pieces on the table. Spread New Year's Eve confetti on the table interspersed throughout the ribbon. You can buy this at any party supply center or craft store. Set up the place holders you made. Make miniature books by cutting card stock into quarters and folding each quarter in half.decorate the covers with markers and stickers. Give each guest one to write in his or her New Year's resolution. Resolve to Do More CraftingAs you make your own New Year's resolution be sure and add "more time making things" on that list of resolutions. After your party is over gather up your hand made items and put them away for next year. Then get ready for your next party -- on Valentine's Day. You will get as much fun out of making the things for the party as you will having the party, and you save money too.
